If your organization requires a higher level of security, 2FA Enforce upon logging in to GEVME platform is required.
What is 2-step verification?
2-step verification adds a second login authentication and confers an additional layer of security to your GEVME user account.
Turn on 2FA for Gevme User account
It can be enforced by your organisation admin or you can turn it on personally.
Go to your Profile / Settings / Account / Security
If this 2-Step verification can not be located in your account, your organisation admin did not enable it.
First time setting up 2FA
- Upon log in, you will be promoted to set up 2FA
- Click on “Start Setup”
- The user is encouraged to set up both options - “SMS and Through an APP”, so that you can switch between the options in case the SMS method is not available.
Through SMS/Voice call
Step 1 - Click “Through SMS/Voice Call”
Step 2 - Setup your phone
Step 3 - Verify your phone
Fill in the code sent to your phone number and click “Verify”
Click Finish
To avoid getting locked out of your account, please save a copy of the backup codes below or print and keep them somewhere safe and accessible.
You can use these backup codes to login to your account in case you lose access to your authentication device. Each code can be used only once. It will look like this:
Step 4: Access: GEVME platform through an internet-enabled device
Using the same email + password to login
Be promoted to complete the 2-Step Verification to access the account
Through an APP
Step 1: Click “Through an APP”
Step 2: Use the app, access the “Settings” to Add an Account. Choose to scan the barcode showing At Step 1 below:
After scanning, a 6-digit code will appear. If the code expires, wait for the new code to be generated.
After the code is accepted per the image above, click Finish.
Step 3: Access: GEVME through an internet-enabled device
Using the same email + password to login and open your authenticator app to input the 6-digit code generated by the app
Decide on your default login
Select “Make Default” to choose SMS or App as your preferred method.

How to retrieve the code from Google Authenticator
After the download is completed, open the mobile app and you will see:
If you are logging through https://www.gevme.com/ : take the code from GEVME.
Notice the time will run out (c) and make sure to fill in the code before that.
Note: ensure that your phone and computer (used to access GEVME) have the same date and time zone. Follow these steps to make sure your Google Authenticator app’s time is synced correctly.
Launch the app, tap the Menu button (three dots), and go to Settings > Time Correction for Codes > Sync now.
Re-generate backup Codes
This is one of the 10 verification codes provided to you from the first time you set up 2 step verification to access GEVME account.
* You can generate a new list of codes after logging into your account, choosing “Admin Console” on top right corner. Under "Account", choose "Security":
Do keep this list safe, and write off the codes you have used previously to keep track.
