We have observed an increase in scam emails targeting event organisers, exhibitors, sponsors, and attendees across the events industry.

These emails are typically unsolicited and may attempt to sell event-related data, offer fake services, or request sensitive information under the pretext of event participation.

Common examples include:

  • Offers to purchase attendee, exhibitor, or delegate data
  • Fake sponsorship or partnership opportunities requiring upfront payment
  • Impersonation of organisers or vendors requesting urgent action or confidential information

These communications are not legitimate and are not associated with official event organisers or service providers.

Gevme does not sell attendee data or provide participant contact information to unauthorised third parties.

You are advised to exercise caution when receiving such communications. Do not respond, make payments, or share sensitive information with unknown or unverified sources. Always verify requests through official event or organiser channels.

To reduce risk:

  • Rely only on official communication channels
  • Validate any third-party requests before taking action
  • Avoid clicking on unknown links or downloading unverified attachments
  • Ensure your team is aware of common scam patterns
